Really enjoyed Rhumba's exquisite teeny-tiny drawings. I once did a drawing of one of H. G. Wells' WAR OF THE WORLDS Martian tripods in my sketchbook using the pencils from one of those big boxes (100 +) from Prismacolor. It drove me nuts because the page size was something like 10" x 14" and I dislike white space in drawings. With pencils one can only color in with a very thin line. Took me most of a day to finish the danged thing. Was pretty pleased with it when I was done though.

There is a little wall space above the book cases around the perimeter of the shop, but, I don't think it would be possible for customers to see, let alone appreciate Rhumba's art.

There is an artist named Mark Ryden who works in tiny miniatures like this. With tiny elaborate picture frames. Sometimes tho, he goes in the opposite direction and does gigantic wall-sized paintings. Have you seen his work?

Wow.

Sadly, along with over half the lattices, the final two drawings just came out as white space on my computer (perhaps it couldn't manage so many graphics on one page?), but the ones that are here are wonderful. The stories are too -- the cat one is especially poignant. :-)

Rhumba sez, if you want you can host an Exclusive Diablo Valley showing of her work. After all, she can mail you a couple of dozen works of art in one of those boxes Lipton Tea comes in. Even in their frames, which are those clear-plastic screw-down holders they make for trading cards. She wasn't up to cutting zillions of _tiny_ mats.

But I wonder if you'd have enough wall space for even _tiny_ art?

When is Rhumba having a gallery showing? I can just see it: vast expanses of white wall with these wonderful little pictures evenly spaced far apart, all at the exact same level, with the gallery attendees squinting closely at them. Or the pictures could all be closely spaced on one section of wall and force the viewers to impinge on each other's personal space in order to get a good look. The possibilities are rife. When may we expect a formal showing? BTW, wonderful pictures (I'll say again). Too bad my monitor is so cheap. I'm sure it's not doing Rhumba's art justice.
