From the woodsy 'burbs of the west coast to the rust belt townships of the east, people continue to leave the straight and narrow path in odd, petty, and appalling ways. And the police become involved. And some journo grabs the incident reports off the watch commander and writes up the best of them for the local paper.
And I skim them off the Internet and make haiku out of them. Because every thing that people do is good poetry, and every choice people do or do not make is philosophy. Or farce, I don't know. Is there a difference? They make good haiku, some of them, that's all I know. As always, enjoy.
These ten dedicated to Otepoti down in Christchurch. Hope you're okay. We Santa Cruzans know what a seven-point quake is like!

Darn, no video.

In all of Christchurch,
Only three people were hurt.
Heart attack, bricks and glass.
People boil water:
"Love in time of cholera"
a non-starter here.
School's last fundraiser:
a Carnival Day for Haiti.
I swear this is true.
Otepoti, I'm glad you're okay, and I'm grateful it wasn't worse. Thanks for the fine haiku report.
